October 23, 200817 yr We're going to go ahead and make a car purchase before the end of the year and these are the models we are looking at. Both the Ford and the Honda come in a 2.0 ltr version and the Altis is a 1.8 ltr engine. Any thoughts, personal experiences or reviews to share? Thanks in advance.
October 23, 200817 yr Hi Dr B No contest, the Civic 2 litre is better built and handles/performs much better IMHO, not to say the other 2 are not good cars. GO TEST DRIVE, you know it makes sense. Dave
October 23, 200817 yr Any thoughts, personal experiences or reviews to share? I suggest you rent each car from some company and testdrive it for at least a week. That's the best way to find out which one suits you best. I had bought a Civic about eight years ago and sold it immediately after about 100 kms, because I just hated the car. Uphill no power, and we got a lot of hills on Phuket. It was a 1.6 litre VTEC, manual gear. On the other hand, this is quite a while ago and things may have improved.
