Where Can You Get 1 Year Non-b Visas?

Featured Replies

Usually i get my 1 year non-B visa (multiple entry) at Penang and have had no problems. In September 2007 I happened to be in my home country so was issued with another one there. Yesterday, I went back to Penang to get yet another one but was refused and have returned with only 3 months (single entry) non-B. I had all the correct paperwork and hold a work permit already etc but was told that new rules insist the company has to have paid-up capital of 8 million baht to get the non-B visa with year validity. That's a pretty big company!

My salary is 40,000 baht in my work permit so i'm guessing a one year extension is out of the question without changing that to 50,000 baht and paying out in back-tax. (Please let me know if i'm wrong on that one).

So, is there anywhere in Asia that we can now get 1 year non-B visas? I really need one!!

Think someone is telling you porkie pies over the THB 8 milion requirement, as far as I know it THB 2.0mil and owner equity in the company must not be less than THB 1.0 mil

KL is giving non-b multiple entry but only with the correct stamp (maigic stamp) in work permit. Link to a topic about this and KL consulate.

That "someone" was the Consular-General at the Penang Consulate... It has been re-confirmed by one of our Thai staff that called him directly to check what went wrong.

Penang have been 'unfriendly' for one year B visas since the current Consul-General started there.
