This is my view

1/Green on white plate... Vehicle less than four doors up to seven seats. Covers 2 door pickups(inc smart/open cabs etc)/panel vans/minibuses re-registered with less than eight seats. Not company plates.

2/Black on white plate/Black on picture plate... Vehicle with four doors less than eight seats. Covers 4 door pickups/ saloon cars/suvs.

3/Blue on white plate...Vehicle with more than eight seats. Covers minibuses/peoplecarriers(Stavics/H1 etc)/converted pickups to carry people/students on benches and GrandCarryboys etc/older station wagons(vans)mainly ThaiRungs. Not personal plates.

4/Black on red...dealer plate used until vehicles own plate issued( government taxes paid?)

5/Black on yellow...Hire and reward meter taxis some tuktuks

6/White on green...Private hire taxi/limo(Airport etc)

7/Black on orange...Tractor

8/Severly bent & mangled green or black on white... Old pickup converted into rescue vehicle and crashed at high speed going to/from the scene of an accident.

Licence requirements?.. 1 2 3 4... thai drivers licence/IDP(not sure about IDP on 4)

8... Idiot/moron or combination.

I'm sure there are others and variations on the above apart from 8.
