A quick question please:

If I am buying a new car in Thailand and the funds were sent from overseas previously, is there any benefit to declaring this at the car dealers (tax reasons etc..)? Thank you very much for any speedy replies that may come.

If you bring in more than the equivalent of USD 20,000 ask your Thai bank for the Foreign Exchange Transaction Form. If the amount is less, ask for a printout of the credit note. Keep the document, it may make it easier to transfer the money out of Thailand again at a later time.

Hi,

if you have the cash you can buy a car, however the only benefits you can get if you can talk with the Thai staff is up-to 30K baht of extra accessories.

however, you can get also insurance which i recommend you to check its total cover as some time is not enough to cover all kind of events.

Cheers
