October 29, 200817 yr Hi you all. I look at my maps and see just how close we are (Lampang) to China via Loas. Has any of you Guys done it, know of any one who did it and lived? Interesting, but probably hard the paper work. Be interesting to know of the issues involved. Thanks Pip
October 29, 200817 yr Never done that. But I believe the more common route is to go to Mae Sai, cross to Keng Tung in Myanmar, than onto to Jing Hong in China. If you google China Laos crossing, you should get many links. This is just one: http://www.travelfish.org/board/post/visab...fore-pos-ting-/
October 29, 200817 yr A similar question was recently asked in the CNX section of the forum. Check it out here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Drive-China-t219171.html Cheers, Pikey.

Many thanks guys for your time. Will look at those links. It certainly does not sound a promising idea. I remember about 5 years back at Nong Ka /Loas it seamed an impossible task to take the car thro to ventaine. So much for the Thailand China super High way. Why oh why is LOS surranded by crap counties Best regards from cold Europe Pip
October 31, 200817 yr By rentacar? Rental company will not let you take the car out of Thailand. It has in contract "The vehicle can not be taken out of the Kingdom" and officers at Thai borders know that.
