Don’t know if there are any Nissan Navara owners on here or even if that model is sold in Thailand, but there was a segment on the UK Watchdog program the other day about a major engine fault.

Seems that the big end bearing that is the bearing that connects the con rod to the crankshaft has a habit of failing and smashing through the engine casing.

Seems quite a few customers in the UK have had this happen but Nissan have been reluctant to admit to any fault in their engines.

This only applies to the Navara D22 Pickup. Hopefully this model is not sold here so this posting is just a waste of time. :o

Bloody typical, in the article they said Nissan extended the warranty on the engine but never notified owners. Tossers.

Here in Oz they offer a 2.5 litre intercooled turbo diesel, DOHC engine in Navara which would be a close relative. Nothing bad being reported here.
