I have a Contract in my school but something i can not understand.

Please, anybody familiar with Thai Law?

1. Visa non B was given to me for a month.Later, it is changed in two months. My contract is for some 8 months. Why they didn't give a stamp for full time of Contract?Just one plus 2 and to come again. That means i have to go for visa non B 3 times and for work permit also 3 times. They change some regulations?

One of the new regulations that has taken an effect since early 2008 is that your work permit doesn't have to follow the visa like in the past. You only need to show a work contract mentioning the period you'll be hired (ofcourse, together with other required papers!). As long as your non-im current visa is still valid, you will be given the work permit up to the date indicated in the work contract, but not more than one year (for now). I used to get 2 years for friends but after a few month, they stop giving that!

BTW, there are differences of how each provincial authority agrees to apply this regulation yet.

So, that means any province can treat that matter, as they want to? Any of them can ignore that new regulations from early 2008?So, that mean if i have that regulations, and show them, my WP Office is not obligated to follow? If true, then nothing else can surprise me here, anymore.

By the way, would you be so kind to send me that paper or to tell me where i could print it, please?

Thanks for time to answer me.

How long was your work permit for? That could be the problem.

Sounds like the paperwork hasn't been completed yet.

They explained WP follow the Visa, always. As i see here that might be not truth. Sure, it is not completed yet. Because of Immi Office gave me visa for a month. Expired 30th October.WP followed that and it's dated on same date as visa. That means WP expired same date as visa. Now i have got extension of visa, until 30th December, so i suppose WP will be dated on same date but head of dept told me today that WP Office want i open, take a NEW WP now. Not just to make renewal. I saw in WP page for renewal WP so i said to my head of dept to tell to the people in WP Office. I am waiting answer tomorrow.

The new law regarding work permits is not being used yet. A customer of mine just received her work permit with a 1 year expiry time, but with validity only for two weeks, as her current non immigrant stamp runs out in 2 weeks.

She's on a multiple entry Non-B, so her visa run in 2 weeks time will give her a new 90 days, and she'll have to go to labor department to get the WP validity in sync with her new "admitted till" stamp...
