Featured Replies

i hate to fly and i can't be bothered to ride a bus to laos for a few days once every three months. i don't want to be here illegally but i also don't want to have to leave the country. what are my options? you can pm me if you don't want to post anything............

is it possible to get a 1 or 5 year tourist visa?

can i have an agent do a visa run for me?

can i pay a larger fee to get a greater than 90-day visa or a new stamp w/out leaving the country?

any other ideas?

thanks in advance, cost is not an issue.

i'm american and not married to a thai/don't plan to marry one

If you join a Thai school that can provide you with paperwork for an ED visa you will be able to get extensions of stay without the need of traveling outside of Thailand. It is possible for several years. At our school for 5 years for most students. This is one of the options. I am not an expert on others. If you need more info contact us.

There is no 1 or 5 year tourist visa,

I assume that as you are leaving every 90 days you have obtained a multi-entry Non O visa?

The long term only way to extend this visa for a year is:

1. Marry a Thai

2. If you are over 50, then show 800K in the bank or 65K a month income

3. Have a job with a work permit.

The choice is yours. :o

Or go to school and learn Thai.

Just a small correction, It's a lifetime visa, not a 5 year visa. They just issue them with a 5 year expiry date and as soon as you change your passport or it expires they issue you with a new one valid for 5 years. It would be an ideal option as the OP states that cost is not an issue. He would never have to leave the county again if he didn't want to.

That Thai Elite service looks pretty amazing. I was checking it out and it says "extendable 90 day visa" what does that mean? By buying into the membership, would you never have to leave the country?

1.5 million baht is a lot. But it's really only $44,000 USD, which is half of a good country club's fees.

Yes you never have to leave. You have to do the 90 day reporting which can be done by post and then every 90 days go along to immigration and get your stay extended for another 90 days costing 1,900 Bht.

Its a bit of a pain but its a hel_l of a lot better than having the leave and come back all the time which just gets annoying after a while.

No. You have to leave the country and come back again.
