Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am currently working here in Thailand and have a valid Work Permit so there is currently no problem in receiving my Visa but I wondered if there are any other options available to me if I was to stop work in the future. I have a Thai wife and we have recently bought a house/land with 50% being covered by a bank loan in her name but with me as a guarantor. Do I qualify for any type of visa by being married to a Thai national? Any financial requirements? Any advice greatly appreciated.

You can get a 1 year extension of stay based upon marriage. It requires 40,000 baht income per month.

For info see page 8 case 7.17 of police order for requiremnets.

You can work with this extension and get a work permit.

Yes, you can get a non-immigrant visa based on marriage to a Thai national. requirements are that you live together and have a family income of 40,000 baht a month. The income can be yours, your wife's or of you both combined.

Point 7.17.

Your option if not working would be a Multi Entry Non O Visa.

Obtainable from Consulates.

It would mean a border run every 90 days and can be stretched out to 15 months.

Easily available from UK. and possible elsewhere.

More options if you are over 50.
