Checking the London Thai Embassy website it appears that to apply for a non-Imm B you now need a "Letter of acceptance from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare".

Last year I did not provide this when I successfully applied for my 1 Year Multi entry Non-Imm B visa. I represent a a small company with no Thais, so WP application is out of the question.

Does anyone have any recent experience applying in London?

London, has a reputation for being difficult; deal will Hull, you can do everything by post and they only look for an invitation letter.
