The Bangkok Post wrote on Wednesday:

"Govt declares 3 days of national mourning

The government has declared three days of national mourning during the cremation ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, from Nov 14 to 16. People are asked to dress in black and entertainment venues asked to cooperate and cease entertainment activities during that period.

The announcement was made after yesterday's weekly cabinet meeting. The cremation ceremony will be held over a six-day period, from Nov 14-19, with Sanam Luang being the royal crematorium site. Government spokesman Nattawut Saikua said the government will also seek the cooperation of television stations, asking them to broadcast only appropriate programmes. All government offices will be ordered to fly the national flag at half mast during the mourning period."

So the question arises whether Suan Plu will be open to the public on Friday, November 14?

Can those kind people that have been in Thailand for many years and have experience with business hours of public administration give their opinions or even educated guesses?

I would never consider to go there on Kings Birthday or similar days. But what is it all about when flags are at half mast?

Our government school is open, so I guess so will other government institutions, with the "request" to dress in black. If in doubt, call immigration and find out.

… the "request" to dress in black…

For men, mourning attire is black trousers and white shirt.
