Dry Black Beans - Bought By Mistake

I've googled recipes for black beans but they are mostly South American recipes.

What do the locals use them for?

very common in sweet dishes, not to my taste to be honest as beans to me are a savory, not a sweet.

Actually I like the sticky rice, black bean and sugar concoction they make and wrap in banana leaves. Doesn't taste like beans at all.

The beans are used in....darn, the wifes asleep and I'm having a problem remembering the Thai name.....

Anyway the bamboo stuffed with sticky rice, beans and sweetened coconut milk then roasted...kow laam might be the name.

Made it with my father and mother in law...cutting bamboo, grating coconut, roasting by the fire....an all day affair that I loved being a part of

My husband makes a sweet dish with black beans and coconut milk warmed up. It's not my favorite but probably good for you.
