Sim Cars

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Over the week end my thai girlfriend lost her mobile phone and i couldnt contact her.

I finally got back in contact with her and she told that she lost her mobile.

It was the new nokia i bought her when i was there in august and now she has to dust off the

old phone and use that one for now until i buy her a new one when i return there soon.

The thing is she still has the same number, she says when she went to get a new

sim she can ask to keep the old number. It is a 1-2 call sim card.

Apparently she said that they can do that there in thailand, can some-one clear this up for me?

In answer to your question, if someone goes to the main office and explains the card was stolen they will give you the old number back. I never did it but was told this was possible when my phone went missing.

My missus has the 1-2 Call Sim card and was able to get her old number on a new Sim as was I with my Happy Sim.

Yes easy just nip into any telewiz shop with ID, they ring AIS with new sim details, then the old number is given to that new sim & its free i know done it twice 10 mins max.

I did it with DTAC - got a new SIM for my new phone with the old number from my old, lost/stolen phone.

Wow! This is the fourth reply without anyone mentioning that maybe your g/f didn't actua<snip>

OK, I won't mention it either.

Only had the problem once, when my phone was "nicked" but must agree with your post.

Went to Telewiz (In U/T) and was told must ONLY go to the one furthest from me but (as you said) in 10 minutes everything sorted, including transferring the positive balance from my stolen phone.

For me, typical Thai service.

I.e. if you have to do something make it as inconvenient as possible, in the hope that the individual will not then do it!

Thanks for the comments and replies people.

On further conversations with my gf, I've since found out that the phone was indeed stolen from her bag

and keeping the old number on a new sim is possible, same as here in oz.

Learn something new every day................

thanks all.......
