princealbert
In the UK on settlement visa and trying to get a UK bank account. There are no utilitity bills in her name here in the UK, the only address letter she has is a letter from the NHS (Medical Card) and no need or intention to work. All other documentation from Thailand eg. bank/credit card letters are in Thai. Is it possible for her to get a UK bank account ? Morden
Yes. Try Nationwide Building Society. However, she will need a utility bill either in her name or your joint names. That's easy to achieve, just ask one or other of your suppliers.

PattayaParent
Can you open an account in joint names? Or will you have the same problem with providing proof of address? Then maybe after a while the bank will allow a sole account in your wife's own name as they will have a record of her.
