naughtybadfurrimunki
I'm looking to buy some top end IEM's. I've done the research and come up with a shortlist of 4 different pairs, ideally I want to audition before I buy. From cheapest to most expensive (based on best current UK prices): Denon AH-C751 Sennheiser IE7 Ultimate Ears triple.fi 10 pro Shure SE530PTH I'm not sure if I can get the Denons in Thailand, I've not had any luck trying to track them down. The Sennheiser model is new and doesn't seem to be available in Thailand yet, but I assume it'll be coming. That only leaves the Ultimate Ears and the Shure, both of which I know I can get in BK, but the prices are much higher than in the UK/US. I could buy from the UK and get family to send them by courier, but I don't wanna get stung with import tax etc. I've already checked the existing threads on headphones and I was wondering if anyone has any more up to date info on good shops in BK (more specialised than Applestore/iPod accessory shops). Any advice or recommendations? Thanks in advance. Edited November 13, 2008 by naughtybadfurrimunki
pilou
Hi There a tiny shop in Fortune selling headphones and headphones amplifiers, I know for sure that they have Sennheiser's and Akg's, as I went there to try some ( I ended up buying nine on eBay, Sennheiser PCX250, not an in ear model ) Sorry, you will have to browse around as I cannot remember for sure on what floor they are, and they are easy to miss. I would say ground or 1st floor... Cheers. Phil
naughtybadfurrimunki
Thanks Phil, I'll have a look around Fortune. Munkong Gadget and Sanook Gadget have quite good selections. Not many top end IEM's though, only the Ultimate Ears, Shures and Westones. I think I'll wait until I can get hold of the new Sennheisers.
dotcom
Etymotic I use the normal ones which require an amplifier. These can be run by i-pod etc.

adammike
I got my shures at bangkok airport and thats the only place i have seen the se5s, and they cost an arm and a leg.I got the 3s as I read that the 5s were a bit big fit wise that is . They are good though but saying that they will get a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours. As the pound is crashing it might pay to get them from the UK. dave_boo
I always recommend the Shures. Previously had the E4c; now have the SE420. Great value and awesome sound.
