Has anyone recently extracted an increased baggage allowance from Thai for travelling on a one-way ticket from the UK?

I'll have a Non-O for one year (hopefully), no WP (yet), a one-way ticket to BKK and an Orchid Plus Silver card. The silver card gives me an extra 10kg of checked baggage and I heard there might be a further allowance for 'emigration'. Before I email the Thai excess baggage folks I'd like to hear of any recent precedents.

Cheers,

K.

A friend was flying with EVA Air from London to Bangkok a few weeks back and the going rate for excess luggage was GBP 44 per kg. I believe that they calculate it as a percentage of the full fare on that route so my guess is it's the same for all airlines. Let us know what you find out...
