On November 14 Mr Sulmain Khaya, aged 40, Mr Meeday Issala, aged 21 and Miss Fassama Ailwain, aged 12 were detained in custody. All three are Turkish citizens. At 9.30 pm on Nov 11 in the Top Shop, a clothing and brand name body ornament store on the first floor of Central World, the manager, Miss Siya, aged 29, was checking the day's takings with a staff member, Miss Jarinpon. The three suspects entered the shop, posing as customers. Whilst Miss Siya and Miss Jarinpon were distracted, the 3 suspects disappeared along with 11,000 baht cash from the shop. The next day at 11pm whilst Miss Siya was going home on the back of her boyfriend's motorbike they stopped to buy petrol at the garage on the beginning of Soi 21 Sukhumvit. There she saw the 3 suspects, sitting in a tuktuk, so she told her boyfriend to follow them, the trail led them to an apartment in Sukhumvit Soi 15. Police raided the apartment and found 15 brand new mobile phones, 20 computer notebooks, 29 digital cameras as well as various brand name items. The 3 suspects were all from one family and said they had come to Thailand many times. They had stolen from shops in various department stores and sold the items in Turkey.
