it is more of a business island catering for more long term residents and more rich holiday makers. which personally i think is good. hopefully one day it will be like barbados. with a nice marine park for luxury yachts and big boats, big schools, more international flights. sports centers and of coarse keeping its orgional thai style.

If you count taking something with war as stealing they actually stole their whole country from England on the 4th of july 1776. .

...especially to the hordes of package tourists, who are over there already since years.

was over there in aug.and it seemed very quiet,good tarmac roads,no litter,proper wheelie bins and earlya.m.rubbish collections,clean beaches and water ,beautiful islands to visit and lovely longboats for transportation,i guess the package tourists will be there dec/jan.period,but the locals have got to make some money sometime.

High season (=tourist masses, high prices, ripoffs) lasts from November - April. Then the western monsum starts.

If you like it unspoiled, you have to go to another place.
