November 26, 200817 yr Im a UK resident travelling to Thailand next year and im unsure which would be the best visa option. If I initially get a single entry non immigrant visa and leave thailand when my 90 days is up, am I correct in that I will have to visit a thai embassy/consulate in another country to apply for another non immigrant or tourist visa. Or enter thailand for 30 days visa on arrival rule. Given that im going to be rentering Thailand at some stage, Im also thinking of getting a double entry non immigrant visa. Mailnly to save me going through what I have described above. ie going back and forth to an embassy to get a new visa and the cost/hassle involved. Lastly say I leave thailand before my 90 day visa has run out does it then become void or can I use up the remaining days when I come back. Thanks in advance great site too, spent many hours browsing thru the forums
November 26, 200817 yr If you get a single entry and are going to leave for a short period of time you can get a re-entry permit (1000 baht) which would keep you original permit to stay valid. IE: Enter and stay 30 days and leave for 30 days and re-enter for for the last 30 days of your permit to stay. Yes you would have to go to a nearby consulate to get another visa or enter on a 30 visa exempt entry. A multiple entry visa would allow you to make as many trips in and out as you want for 1 year and getting a 90 day permit to stay each time. You can even make an entry just before the one year is up and get another 90 days which gives a total of about 15 months. Edited November 26, 200817 yr by ubonjoe
November 26, 200817 yr Yes. A multi entry Non Imm O Visa is a good idea. Apply at the Thai Consulate in Hull. Reason for visiting family and friends . You can apply by post £100. http://www.thaiconsul.co.uk/visas1.asp
