i will be arriving in bkk on the 24th dec in the morning was wondering if anyone out there would want to share a taxi to pattaya. i am travelling with someone but they are staying in bangkok for a couple of days and the going to pattaya.

Er!! all long haul flights give out free headphones and black hair is not unusal for western men, are you going to wear the sunglasses for the 12 hours, this habit is usually reserved for famous people who travel business/first class, believe me, anyone travelling on economy, wearing dark glasses for the duration will be treated with suspician...

they could well be the rose tinted spectacles that are popular with the glitterati.

We ended up delayed 24 hours though the party we had on board (I cracked three bottles of wine and got the stewardesses phone number) more than made up for it.

When u arrive at bangkok unless you've brought your house from the uk, exit the airport, walk past the 200 metre que for a taxi and try to get a cab thats just dropping some1 off(sometimes they have airport staff stopping the taxi's doing this),

If not cross the car park to the motorway and walk just beyond the bus stop and get a taxi that way-there's always plenty and i never wait more than a couple of minutes

If there's peeps at the bus stop walk past (direction towards traffic) to give the taxi a chance to see u and they'll pull over, just give them a thai wave to get their attention(kinda palm facing down and move your fingers up and down together)

I never pay more than 800 baht plus tolls, i haven't got into a cab that didn't have any air con yet either so there's no worries that way

I don't do this to be a cheap charlie, I got fed up "waiting" for the airport taxi or limo that charged me more for a trip to a bangkok hotel than it costs to get to pattaya

getting to bangkok, I pack my bags and get all my stuff together so all i have to do is lift them into a taxi, I then pop down to south pattaya(marine disco) and get a cab(always there) to take me back to get my things then onto the airport-same again never paid more than 800 +tolls
