Qos Router To Control Bandwith

Featured Replies

Hi, I am woundering if I can get a Router in Thaiand that can do this. I have 2MB ADSL. I want to give my streaming vedio Priorty over another computer. example I am steaming at 700 kps, someone else is just browseig the web and makes my videa brake up when the pages are loading. I would like to know if I can control this on a QOS router, now I have a Belkin, used netgear mostly before. I do not see any settings for QOS on the routers interface page. I would like some info on this and names of routers that will make this work, or am I just dreaming? thanks

any routeur wich can be flashed with DD-WRT, the linksys WRT54GL is one of the best ratio price/performance.

Linksys WRT54GL (NOTE THE "L" AT THE END!) and Tomato open source firmware is what I use. Tomato is simply fantastic, certainly the best router software I know. It does QOS, there is a pretty elaborate setup page for that.

Beware though that Linksys, in their wisdom, decided to name the WRT54GL almost the same as the "WRT54G". You need the one with the L at the end, which stands for "Linux". The WRT54G has a completely different hardware and does not work with the open source software out there.

WRT54GL can be found at Thanni.com for a very reasonable price :o
