Govt House protesters move to Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi

On Bk post website...

– One of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) leaders, Maj-Gen Chamlong Srimuang, on Monday told protesters at Government House to move to Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports.

According to Maj-Gen Chamlong, anti-government demonstrators will no longer be allowed to spend a night at Government House for their own safety, following repeated grenade and gun attacks at the compound previously.

He said the daily demonstration at Government House will now be held until evening, and only the PAD guards will station at the site during the night.

not ending....

I have just had an sms from BKK post stating that they are MOVING from goverment house to the 2 airports for extra manpower.

Only the PAD guards will be left there.

Could this be a perfect chance for the police to take back the goverment house as no one is going to be there now???????

Lets face it- why would you split your forces - better to consolidate one location and swampy is also the better choice as it adds more protection to PAD followers from the low-life cowards paid to fire grenades etc into the parliment compound under the cover of darkness. Good tactical move.

yes but it wouldn't help, as the government is hiding in the north and government house could be re-taken or blocked easily.

To hold it would be now just symbolic so they don't focus on it.

I would imagine it's more to do with the fact that the airport 'protesters' are probably getting 500 baht tucked under the food in their free lunchboxes, while the Govt House people were likely getting a little less.

Protesters, my arse.

Half of those dimwits don't know what side they are on.

If the islamic terrorists had any plans to attack Thailand, they will likely do it soon. The government and police are all tied up and the army is sitting in the barracks. Pretty scary in my opinion.

You don't have to be a University Rector to figure out that endless duty free, airport lounges and other items make the airports a much more 'attractive' place to stage a protest compared to government house.

Thai protesters to end seige at PM's office

Associated Press , Bangkok | Mon, 12/01/2008 1:28 PM | World

A key protest leader says Thai anti-government demonstrators will end their sit-in at the prime minister's office compound and relocate to the capital's besieged airports.

Chamlong Srimuang has called on protesters who have occupied Government House since Aug. 26 to "move to the airports to support our people there."

The move does not represent a softening of the protest group's stance.

Chamlong told supporters Monday that they should move because it was not safe to remain at Government House. Several grenades have been lobbed at protesters, wounding dozens.

Protesters from the People's Alliance for Democracy seized both Bangkok airports last week, shutting the Thai capital to all commercial air traffic.

Government house is now a wasted effort. If your a festering sore on someones arm or could choose to be cancer, then cancer is the disease of choice to make sure you can kill your host, exactly what they are doing. Sondhi L has found a way to super stardom, hopefully his ulitmate demise. Let's not see the courts bring this too an end, let's have 100,000 police raid Swampy and cable-tie the entire mob up on the tarmac. Jail the lot of them and do Sondhi L, Chamlong and Suriyasia for treason..........
