Getting From Phuket To Bangkok Right Now...

Featured Replies

It will be at least another week before the airport opens again ( http://bangkokpundit.blogspot.com/2008/12/...en-airport.html ) so I changed my flight to Phuket. How is it possible right now to get from Phuket to Bkk?

VIP or government bus- be sure not to store your valuables in the hold underneath

Any other options? A boat trip or something? :o

Taxi should be just a bit cheaper than a boat around Malaysia.

you forgot tuk tuk and/or elephant

I saw on TG website that they now have flights servicing from Utapao to various destinations, including Phuket and CM

and please everyone, leave the jokes and trolling out of the information threads will you?

good luck

I have just returned to the country via Phuket.

I had a van pick me up and drive me 12 hours to my home. It cost 15,000 baht.

When you arrive in Phuket airport you will be inundated with offers of taxi's to take you to Bkk or Pattaya, you will pay a premium but look around and there will be others going the same way so you should be able to share

Could try a train, that would be my first choice.

Second choice would be a bus from Phuket to Surat Thani, a boat to Samui then a Bangkok Airways flight to U-thapo (pattya) if available - easy to get from Pattaya to Bangkok.

Last choice would be a coach ride.

Actually, would likely take a one way car rental as my first choice, it's a pleasant enough drive.

the car rental will be cheaper than the 15k van hire :o

but if you really need to get van then I suppose finding people to share with would help. gee thats a lot of money for a 24 hour ride (return for driver)
