Difficulty Watching Hd

Featured Replies

Despite using the latest version of VLC and having all the programs closed on my computer I have difficulty watching the above, very choppy pic. System Specifications are: XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Intel ® Pentium ® D CPU 3.40Ghz, 2.50 GB of Ram. Any recommendations? I.e Video card I only have Radeon X1300 secondary series, (If I am listing it right?)

VLC sucks. Even on my Quad Core 3gHz and a Geforce 8800GTS VLC didn't succeed to give a good steady picture.

Try Zoom Player Free or Premium.... very satisfactory. I would say for standard viewing, the free version suffices.

Try media player classic? On my Core 2 Duo, 2GHz, I can play 720p at around 10% CPU. 1080p brings the laptop it's knees, and it gets HOT. Have to have the AC on to keep it from getting choppy or freezing up.

GOM Player is working fine for me to play 720p.

AMD Turion 64 (not dual core) 2.0GHz

1GB ram.

Yeah, it's very nice and simple player. :o

I play most of my 720p and 1080p movies on it,no prob.( my laptop has 1.66GHz core 2 duo with on board graphics card )

If video image stutter, it's likely to be your codec configuration. :D

I had to deal with similar situation and tried a few players, codec packages.

I think

Core Codec and Combined Community Codec Pack are very useful.

Good Luck

ps; I also use " Core Media Player".

What the above said is good. You can also try KMPlayer which is what I used. I sincerely believe its the best overall player out there right now. I used it on may systems and they play HD movies just fine, even on an old 1.86ghz system.
