Not stayed there, but it is about three stops on the MRT from Asoke, so around a 12 minute trip. Pretty OK area, as it's near the MRT, and there are plenty of things going on in that area as well. Electricity charge has a high mark up 7bht a unit.
thecatman
I've never stayed here but I know this area of town quite well (I live in Lad Phrao). It says on the website that the apartments are located about 1km from Sutthisan MRT station. Well, from Sutthisan to Asoke by MRT it takes about 10 mins (5 stops). In a taxi......who knows, as Ratchada's traffic can be murder at times!! It's a pretty good area to live though with plenty to see and do on Ratchada. spiderman2
Cheers for the info think i will go for it. But how many units of electric and water get used a month for the average person in a studio, i only use aircon sparingly when im staying in a hotel due to it giving me sinisitus. There is this one which seems to be in a better location - www.the111s.com But they want 2 months deposit upfront which i wouldnt be prepared to do in England as people imo see deposits as a gift, is this also the case in Thailand. mrtoad
You should not be spending too much on the elec if you only use the air con sparingly. I probably use about 400 units a month, and thats with 3 Air con units, 2 of which are on most nights.

If the location is OK for you, then it's not a bad price. Add another 5K for utilities. (household electricity is 2.3B per unit, this place is 7B). The Ratchada area is known for best upclass massage parlors and is sex-tourist destinations for Asians (Japanese, Korean) and Thais. However, it's more discrete, not boiling over the brims like around Nana and Soi Cowboy.

You might want to read this recent topic before considering the apartment that requires a 2 month deposit. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Rental-Depos...nd-t222857.html I'n not scare mongering here, there are of course good Landlords too, (like mine) but you do certainly run a risk with any deposit you may put down.
