I don't mean to be boreing but if you know all the words you know more than most of us and knowing what your relationship is to the writer, you know everything, surely. It doesn't flow, is it a letter?

หญิงก้อเม้นให้แล้วนะจะ your name, main verb, aux verb, inviting agreement The verb (fold) so I guess it is slang for what ever you have done(you will know if this is correct or not.)

นึกว่าลืมกันแล้วนะเนีย think you have forgotten already, นะเนีย don't know, probably means 'already' again.

ยังจำกันได้อยู่หลอจ้า good memories? (Do you have more money than the writer?)

เป่งไงสบายดีปะจ้า are you ok?

อืมไม่มีเบอวะ as usual don't have number because (อืม) I am guessing 'as usual' what does อืม mean?

โทสับหายอะ I have lost my 'phone

มึงก็โทมาหากูดิ it will be good if you 'phone me

กำลังคิดถึงอยู่พอดีเลย you can get me on this number

0855555555ใช้เบอเดิมอะ it is the old number (must have bought a new phone)

สวัดดีหญิงก้อ farewell

ทอไปไม่ติดเลยน่ะ I have tried to call you

ทอมาหากูด้วย call me

I apologise for being peculiar but I am testing myself, I shall compare it with what the experts say.

I'll have a quick stab at it as well. (May have some of the pronouns mixed up):

หญิงก้อเม้นให้แล้วนะจะ I (YING - girl's name) left a comment

นึกว่าลืมกันแล้วนะเนีย Thought you had forgotten me

ยังจำกันได้อยู่หลอจ้า You still remember me?

เป่งไงสบายดีปะจ้า How are you?. Are you OK?

อืมไม่มีเบอวะ I don't have your number

โทสับหายอะ Lost my phone

มึงก็โทมาหากูดิ Can you phone me

ทอไปไม่ติดเลยน่ะ I phoned you but couldn't get through

Hello Katana, nice to hear from you, only me and you in this. I have been told that เม็น is the second sylable of comment, which you correctly ascribed, I presume it has the same meaning in Thai. I don't know how I missed 'missed you' think I read คิด as ติด and ignored the rest. I hope you are a lady because this is a man's interpretation.

Boy has been going out with girl หญิง but allowed the relationship to lapse. He has heard through 'the grapevine' that she is still interested. Not wanting to commit himself with a 'phone call he decides to write a note with the excuse that he has lost her number, the normal pleasantries follow and he asked her to call him.

Now; he is treating her as though she has just 'fallen off the turnip wagon' so, if she responds positively it means that, the rumours were true and, he is on to a winner. :

Is that how you see it?

Hi,

I'm not sure as well so didn't really want to comment further, preferring to leave it for the experts too :o. One possible scenario (I may well be way out, maybe Yoot or someone else knows):

In the first paragraph YING seems to contact someone (via Hi5 maybe?).

In the second paragaraph, that person says s/he's lost YING's number and asks YING to phone them.

In paragraph 3, YING says she couldn't get through on the phone, can they phone her instead.

Or all 3 paragraphs could be from 1 speaker, as you suggest.

The use of กู/มึง/วะ show they were/are close at one time.

Katana,

Most of your translations were correct. There were only some minor mistakes.

From the first and the last paragraph, they showed that หญิงก้อ is a girl's name - Ying Gor. Actually, I think her name is Gor but sometimes they like to call each other in playful name by adding Ying in front of the girl's name and Chai in front of the boy's name.

ทอมาหากูด้วย should be 'Call me'.

The first paragraph written by 'Ying Gor'.

The second could be anyone, Ying Gor, the one who wrote the third paragraph or someone else.

The last one was written by someone to 'Ying Gor'.

They are close friend to each other who need so badly to start study Thai language again, it seems. :D

It seems all of these had nothing to do with the OP either. :o

Thanks for finishing it off. For my part I think I had better stick to reading the dictionary, I assumed that it was something sent to the OP. I think my story is better except it can't work if the subject of the first sentence is หญิงก้อ very formal, nice to know that the young people retain some politeness one to another.

Good one, khun yoot. If ทอ is how some Thais are writing โทร - then this whole SMS/internet chat technology is a vehicle to debase the language almost as much as English is being debased, by people who can't be bothered with simple spelling. (Does anyone really save any time, energy or limited mental capacity by typing "2" instead of "to" on a keyboard? Or are they just cretins?)
