Ladies Point Of View?

Featured Replies

Hi Ladies, If anyone is interested in penning some thoughts on life in Thailand from an expatriate female point of view, kindly pm (longer term residents preferred).

Also of interest is the views from many western born or educated thai ladies whom have returned for a life in Thailand (what's that like for you, easier, more difficult, same same?). Or, you're not Thai, but Asian 'looking' and living here? (does everyone innocently speak thai to you?) What's your experience like?

This is for an upcoming article in the 'new' bahtsold mag, "Thailand Connect". Not looking for anything 'politcal' etc, just simply your unique views on the ground.

Career's, relationships, hobbies, interests, particularily your first impressions/expectations vs your current one. Are you happy? Plan on staying for the long term? Maybe you commute/live/consult back and forth? Any lady retirees points of view? Are you in business here, or working? How did you arrive at it and how's it going?

Maybe if there's a few interested, some might collaborate? This would be for Feb print.

Personally, I love Thailand (warts & all) and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. How 'bout you? I have a sneaking suspicion, you're all doing just fine, I'd just like to print and share your points of view with others.

Anonymity assured, unless otherwise stated.

Thx girls, daniel

PS: I've met a few of the ThaiVisa ladies and perhaps they will tell you this is not a troll, if you have any doubts that is. cheers!

Confirmed. Daniel is a very nice guy. And definitely is not a troll. :o

:o thx LC... I can confirm you are indeed a 'lovely cutie' as well :D

Rcvd a whopping 2 responses thus far via pm but s'alright. I'm hoping for more and Feb's still aways off. Say, LC, it occurs to me you qualify...?

Hi Daniel. That's a good idea. Does Baht & Sold have a web site? I'd like to read some back issues. BTW, when would the article need to be in by?

Cheers

(hope that's ok to post :o )

Will be updating the TC.com website next month, with all the articles online.

The article is for Feb edition, so lotsa time yet.

Thanks Daniel. :D

I'm not certain if I qualify though as I've been living here my entire life. Only travelled overseas a bit. What do you think?

Well LC, in person you're alot of fun and a bit quieter than on TV but who isn't - (shut it Scamp;) and on TV you're still fun and more open maybe....you're also a native, yet you seem to fit in the east or west grrl perspective and see both sides of the soi (if there really is such a thing, in reality! - we'll see) ...yup, you're IN! :D

Now, who was the 'Museum Curator' amongst you ladies again? I remember someone I met telling me she worked in that field and I thought she was joking. Then (of course) I gets egg on me face seeing the biz card! There must be a worthy story in there somewhere (museum curator, not the egg part;)

Can you imagine, two of us guys sitting around nursing chang's..."Hey, why'd YOU come to Thailand pal?", "To curate at the museum, of course". Now THAT would be an earned 'Elite' card dontcha think? :D (whole 'nother story right there;)

Seriously, I've thankfully had more than a few responses for the said article now and this could be a good piece imho. So, lovely LC and others, if you like, collaborate or pm separately and I'd be happy to print your experiences. I'll be passing them to Anne, my biz partner (thai/farang, whatever) for final objectivity edit (again, if there exists such a thing as objectivity;)

Speaking of which, back to editing Jan now, deadline looming :o

(PS: yes, may even do a different bit with our very own Gent Scamp in the mag, when he gets off the ferris wheel that is;)

Daniel, that would be Candyflip! :o
