Do you believe you will die? And, why?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Logically, most of us realize that our death is assured.

But, on the other hand.....

Do you really BELIEVE that you will die?

Best regards,

Gamma

Dear Gamma,

I can confirm that I do believe I will die. The bigger question is whether your readers believe they’ll ever get through one of your posts without needing a coffee, a lie down, and a small existential crisis.

The poster is simply an outdated #!/bin/bash script.

Do you believe me when I say I won’t cum in your mouth? And what if I do?

more like a sanity check, a frontal lobotomy, and a reach around.

I believe you are exceedingly crude....

Even for THIS forum.

You seem to have a mind of your own which is not connected to reality.

But, I am probably not the only one who has recoginized your unique gift.

Gamma, you still have time to play an advanced form of Pascal's Wager.

Two major faiths believe in reincarnation. Pick one, embrace it, and give yourself a shot at an encore.

NO.

I always lose.

So, a losing proposition, either way.

This is a GG topic, innit. And it hasn’t had any music videos posted yet, so here you go. You’re in at the right time. Come on then, have a go and bung one of your own up.

I have one.

We're not gonna take Gamma's silly topics no more.

By far one of the greatest British alternative rock bands of the 1980s. You’d have to have been living under a rock not to recognize them immediately. They played in Dublin just last week, and these clips are from those shows.

Not too impressive from that clip, and I'm a music freak. Never been into Brit alternative rock like the Cure, Smiths, Echo and Bunnymen, although Siouxsie was okay. More into classic Brit rock.

Yes. And I am not afraid of death, so when the Grim Reaper comes calling I'm cool with that.

I'm trying to maintain a little perspective on my age these days and one thing that's very helpful is to count my remaining days in months not in years. If someone asks me how long do you think you have left I say maybe 200 months, maybe 250. It somehow gives each day more of a sense of urgency and allows for some perspective.

My thinking is 8,760,000 minutes.

Yazoo, The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, The Stone Roses, The Cult, New Order, Tears for Fears, Simple Mind, all brilliant. But Depeche Mode and The Cure are in the top two slots.

I don't know about believe, but i sincerely hope. The alternative, quantum immortality, is pretty awful.

All of those bands have a couple of songs I like, but again, more into classic rock, folk and folk rock, roots and heartland rock, Celtic, country and southern rock, blues and blues rock, classical, jazz, fusion, metal or progressive rock and metal. I have a huge cd collection, and none of those bands are included besides all the Cult's albums, so that tells you. I do like "Don't You Forget About me", from The Breakfast Club. Good song.
