I posted a similar thread earlier but got almost no replies.

Come on guys, there are supposed to be so many of you who want to go out of Bangkok for a few days (or hopefully already did so), take the computer with you and sit on some nice balcony and use the internet.

So, please, if there is anybody out there having experiences with specific hotels, bungalows etc. that do offer an internet connection good enough to use it for "skyping" abroad, uploading files via ftp and doing internet research in a comfortable speed let me/us know.

I know many hotels offer wireless internet. But I am looking for some real hands-on experiences from you guys regarding the speed.

It does not matter where the hotels are as long as they may serve as a getaway from Bangkok.

Along the coast, on an island, Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai, whatever ...

I just wonder if "available" comes at 300, 500 or 800Baht a day.

Free internet starts with rooms that are 7,800B per day and up. But for the research' sake, who cares?

But actually I was not intending to stay at places in the "7000 Baht and up" range. ;-)

But I have no problem in paying extra for the internet as long as it is fast enough for the things I mentioned above.
