jack2964
Against my better judgement I made a trip covering Phu Khieo WS , Chulabhorn dam and Nam Nao NP and got washed out. Anyway just to report the winter migrants are slow to turn up as I didn't get to see a single leaf warbler nor Brown Shrike over 3 days. Over at PKWS, the only notable bird was a Pied harrier in flight over open grassland at Thung Kamang. Also sat at the hide for a couple of hours and all I got were half a dozen leeches. At Chulabhorn dam 2 Blue rock thrush, a White wagtail, 3 Pied hornbills and 2 unidentified raptors were sighted. Lots of construction going on right now at Nam Nao NP and I would suggest anyone thinking of visiting to defer their plans. All the shops are closed so you won't be able to buy necessities nor get a hot meal. But they still took my entry fee!
