Better solve the mystery of

Enjoy your first trip - I'm sure most people on this board haven't

This sentence was quickly followed by aahh f*****g b****x! as I knocked a full mug of tea over the keyboard. Thankfully I was in the office so I don't own the thing.

Anyway the sentence in question should have finished...

forgotton their first time in Thailand

On reflection though it looks a bit tame that sentence. I'm sure there are many more amusing endings. Anyone want to add a new ending?

Eh? :o

Come on Chonners. What makes you think he was specifically talking about you?

Guilty conscience perchance?? :D

hmmm it's possible that I didn't enjoy my first trip , but I recall it differently , if He /or you was/were inferring that I had not made a first trip at all , then all I can say is........sometimes I wish I hadn't :D

One of my friends, also a young Chinese girl, often go to bars. She told me I had to show my passport and the copy was no use. So I cant understand why the doormen dont check yours, but my friend's. does she look too young? If so, it's impossible for me to enter any bar without a passport cos I look much younger than her. :o

The advice given to you so far concerns tourists needing to carry their passports. I'm chinese myself, and my experience is that they will check you more thoroughly because they think you are thai, especially if you look young. Your friend is right, if they ask for i.d, they'll want the original because they are checking your age - most farang here are well over 18 !! :D

Interesting. I went to the Nana disco last night and my mate's girlfriend, whose just flown in from England, was refused entry because she didn't have her id card.

She comfortably look's over the 18/20 years but there was no way she was being let in.

Not even a bribe would get them to change their mind.

Once inside it was a puzzle working out what the id check is for. There were plenty of young looking girls in there!

What? You mean you both went in regardless of the fact his bird wasn't allowed in?

Nice one!

How stringent the i.d checks are, varies from place to place, but i would say that most places will check if they think you are underage - which will apply to the original poster - and they will ask for original i.d (no photocopies, as mentioned by previous posters). But then again she could get lucky and walk straight in.

And, yeh, did you really leave your girl standing outside ?

Does my student ID work?

If iots got your date of birth on it. I would believe that would be enough.
