Peacocks

Recommended Posts

With the bird flu, it will be difficult to find any available bird farms here in Thailand. Peacocks can cost around 50,000 baht each for a good breeding pair. I used to know a good bird farm not too far from Bangkok but they closed down in 2002. I may know a few people to call for you - are you needing the birds for a personal collection or for display?

Yeah, Jockstars post does seem to be the only sensible one. I wouldn't sell mine either. :D

Before thinking about breeding peacocks, try finding out about ostrich farms in Thailand. I've seen a few signs for them around here and there, but I don't think ostrich farming took off for some reason. Not sure why. I could be wrong.

But maybe you'll find some info that may prove useful or relevant to peacock breeding?

There is a place near Mor Chit (Chatuchuk) that sells many exotic birds including peacocks and hens.

Nrst skytrain is the last one before Mor Chit.

Sorry, can't remember name of area.

Good luck, they make good watchdogs , sorry watchcocks :o
