dukdorob Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Hello I inwas happy plating Half life 2 until someone at work suggested uping the resolution now when I start the game the monitor tells me it's out of range 75.2k 75Hz I can't do anything except close the game, it's been two weeks and I'm out of ideas can any one help? Thanks Rob.
astral Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 What you have quoted, 75Hz, is the refresh rate. Resolution is usually 1280 x 1024 or something like that. Try changing the figure through the control panel/display/settings. You may need a better video card or a better monitor to play this game, if you current one does not allow the higher figures.
Firefoxx Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 The simple way: Lug another monitor to your computer, plug it in, go into HL2, and change the resolution. The other way: Start-run-> "C:\Program Files\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe" -width 800 -height 600 -rate 85 This should start the game with 800x600 resolution at 85 hz, something your monitor should support. Change the path if you installed it somewhere other than the default folder. Once you have it started, change the resolution.
