Lite Beer
HI In reading the new police order re Retirement can you still use a embassy letter for proof of income and money needed for a Retirement visa as I have done for the last 3 years? Yes nothing has changed. BTW It is not a Retirement Visa. It is an Extension of Temporary Permision To Stay.

mrjohn
Thanks for the info this was not the way it was quoted in the PAI newspaper , but thats Pai for you. Yes you need the Embassy letter for income from abroad and a bank letter for money in the bank. Hold on there lite beer can you just clarify this?As I understand it, provided your income meets the 65000Bht minimum you only need to show the Embassy letter, but you would need proof of money in the bank if you are applying for the extension to stay on a part and part basis. Is that correct???
Mario2008
That is correct, and as Lite Beer stated. The bank statement is only needed when you go for an extension based on money in the bank. Though some immigration offices might want to see a bankbook to confirm you have some money to live on, other then the embassy letter when you go for income. Lite Beer
65,000 Baht monthly income from abroad. Embassy letter needed. 800,000 Baht in the bank. Cerificate from bank needed. Comination of the two. Embassy letter and bank cerificate need.
heretostay
800,000 Baht in the bank. Cerificate from bank needed. For the annual extensions of stay, do you have to show NEW money coming into the account from abroad (like for the visa application), or can you "use" the first 800,000 forever? Thanks. dotcom
Can be the same money.
Lite Beer
Yes. You can show the same money every year. But they will want to see some evidence of how you are suporting yourself. IE. a savings acc. with some movement of money.
