Hi all,.4 adults are hoping to spend 3and a half weeks in Thailand in March.Does anyone know if we have a 3 week,or 4week visa for Thailand, and if 3 weeks, would they let us extend. Also, after the terrible devastation from the Tidal Waves, and our hearts go out to all those people caught up in that, have not heard if Koh Samui has been badly damaged,if at all. Thanks Brian

Australian and New Zealanders are granted permission to enter for up to 30 days on arrival.

have not heard if Koh Samui has been badly damaged,if at all.

Koh Samui's on the opposite coast, and is completely unaffected...

The 30 day entry requires you to have an outbound/return ticket within the 30 days. If you're planning on leaving overland or buying the outbound ticket in Thailand, you should apply for a tourist visa.

:o Hi everyone, automatic visa on entry into Thailand for up to 30 days. That is issued at Immigration as you go through you do not have to apply or go to special counter. I f you leave Thailand for say Laos, you will granted a further 30 days on re-entry back to Thailand. Don't do that too often otherwise you will be asked by Thai Officials the purpose of your continuing re-entry permits.

This is for Aus/NZ passport holders.

Anyone else have a variation on that?

You actually get a 30 day "PERMIT" on arrival.A "VISA" is the right to travel to a country and NZL/Aussie passport holders have a waiver on the visa requirement for Thailand.

Sorry if that sounds a tad anal, but thats the technically correct description/terminology.
