30 Day Tourist Visa Extn In Isaan.

Featured Replies

Tried to source answer through TV search and on the Thai immigration website but no luck!

My friend has a tourist visa and wants to apply for a 30 day extension around Isaan area as he will be in Khon Kaen about the time it is due.

It seems to me that he could go to a border checkpoint.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible? and how it's done.

Nong Khai immigration office.

Korat immigration office.

No immigration office in Khon Kaen. Nong Khai to the North and Korat to the South both have imm offices where you should be able to get extensions.

If he's going to go as far as Nong Khai, he could cross the border and just get a new visa.

Here is a list of immigration offices. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/post-a65460-...mmigration-offi

Previous post is correct for offices nearest to Khon Kaen.

Just go to he immigration office fill out a TM7, have one photo and copy of passport photo page, visa and entry/permit to stay stamp pages.

If he's going to go as far as Nong Khai, he could cross the border and just get a new visa.

Yeah, if he has an extra 1,5000 Baht to blow on a Lao visa to do so!

Why do that when you can get one free at the Nong Khai office? Doesn't compute. :o

Yeah, if he has an extra 1,5000 Baht to blow on a Lao visa to do so!

I think you have an extra zero in the price for the visa. 1500 baht or $35 US.

An extenion will cost 1900 baht at immigration.

Personally I would choose Korat. Much more helpful and friendly.

I stand corrected. Computer error, of course. :o

Extension cost: I know that an Immigrant non-B visa extension will cost 1900 baht; same for a tourist visa extension?

Any extension is 1900 baht.

What would be the closest place to Nakhon Sawan to get my extention done? (excluding bangkok)

See this page on immigration website. You could click on checkpoints and choose central to see other offices. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=north

Thanks

An office that immigration doesn't even bother to list on it's website.

The same as the office in Korat.

Thanks to all of you, very helpful.

Very impressive.

Nakhon Sawan to Tak...............246 K

Nakhon Sawan to Ayutthaya.........182 K

Acording to Google Maps.

It is better to call first and ask if they can do what You want.

the phone number for the Ayutthaya office is 035-322667.

I can also take the train to Ayutthaya, which is only 50 baht if I take the commuter train.

I will have to give them a call to see if they can do a tourist visa extension.

Thanks for the info
