Beach Etiquette

Just read that you're meant to wear clothes at the beach in Thailand. Says you shouldnt take off your t shirt.

Opinions please.

At the tourist beaches, Patong etc, you can show as much as at any Western beach. Wouldn't go naked though.

I like to wear a full suit of 16C armour on the beach and sometimes a duffle coat.

Where can I get a duffle coat

You don't have to leave your short on if you're a guy - and girls, in theory, aren't supposed to go topless, although many people on more touristy beaches ignore this law and don't get into trouble for it. If anyone, male or female, went completely naked that would be pushing it too far I think.

Also, although it is perfectly acceptable for guys to be on the beach topless, and girls going topless are generally tolerated, it's respectful to cover up when you leave the beach and walk around the streets nearby.

Agreed, no women topless on the beaqch, men topless okay. All cover up to come onto road or bars off the beach etc
