I have a Non Imm B one year extension and work permit. I will be changing jobs but staying in the same place. What happens to my visa and work permit? Do I have to leave and get a new Non-Imm B and new work permit or can It all just be changed for my new job and can my visa just get extended again without having to leave?

If you can get the new work permit before the old one is cancelled your extension will not be a problem.

You have to have your new employer get the permit or if your old one is willing to do it add your new job to the old work permit.

If all this happens then you would not have to worry about your extension until it expires.

If not then your extension would be cancelled on the date your extisting job ends. You then would have to get a 7 day extension (1900 baht) or leave the country on that date. And then do the visa and extension process all over again.

Not sure I understand what "changing jobs but staying in the same place", does that mean you are still employed by same company? If that is true, then you will probably just need a new work permit, which can be done without leaving the country. Everyone I know that changed companies ended up having to leave the country dispite attempts to avoid it.

I am staying in the same province but changing schools.

I plan to do this all before my old work permit and extension expire. So could my new employer get me another extension on my visa and work permit? My old job and new job are fine with the whole thing and would do whatever I needed.

If both of your employers help and work together you should not have any problem. As long as you are never reported as being without a job then it is not a problem.

Your new employer will be able to take care of your extension when it is due.

So should my new employer go to the work permit office or immigration office first? And do I need any documentation from my old employer?

Cheers!

The work permit office first. The most important thing is to keep your work permit valid.

Don't worry about immigration until the work permit is taken care of.

But I had to get my Non Imm B visa extended before the work permit office would extend my work permit last time, is it different in this situation? What will my old employer have to show in order for my new employer to change things?

When does your extension expire?

What you are trying do is get a new work permit and your old one canceled. They will issue it up the date your extension ends. Then when you get your extension you go back and have your work permit extended.

I appreciate all your help uj! my visa and wp expire mid feb. What I am worried about more than the work permit extension is the visa extension. If we bring my new contract into the imm. office with my new work permit will they give me another year on my visa extension?
