Where To Host Website For Thai People - But Outside Thailand!

Featured Replies

We want to host a website that will be accessed by thai people, but for legal reasons, don't want to host it in Thailand.

Has anyone got information about how fast Thailand connects to other countries, both in Asia and perhaps US?

The site will have video downloads, so we want a decent transfer rate.

Is that asking too much for a site hosted outside Thailand? Does Singapore, for instance, offer decent transfer rates to and from Thailand? How does it compare with the US? Any other "contenders"?

Thanks,

For legal reasons? Are you going to host porn? Then forget about Singapore ....

BTW Even hosting your site abroad and you're living in Thailand doesn't mean the Thai law can't catch up with you ....

Connection speeds between Thailand and Australia are usually pretty good (compared to the rest of the world). Australian hosting is a bit on the expensive side though.

My website is hosted in the USA and the transfer rate is pretty reasonable (Google Elite Property Thailand if you want to check), but we don't have video. The rate is not that cheap however, but they guarantee us unlimited expansion as we need it.

No, not porn. Shame you have to imagine that as the only possible "legal reason".

Basically for video streaming, mainly used by Thai people, you'll almost be forced to host within Thailand.

Most Thai people are on the so-called "home" packages, which have poor bandwidth internationally, along with high latency.

Video streaming is usually no problem once you are on the "premium" packages but as said before, very little Thai people use those!

Singapore usually has reasonable connectivity to Thailand... Thaivisa is hosted there.

Well it does appear the hosting is for something somewhere between dubious and dodgy, and the legal reasons why you wish to host outside Thailand may well pose problems hosting in many other locations too. I actually just assumed online gaming, then when you said video I too assumed porn, adult webcam etc. Failing that I'm guessing dodgy marketing scam, perhaps content that is politically or otherwise volatile.

Hong Kong is OK for hosting and you may even get speeds suitable for video streaming. Zentek International will host just about anything from what i've heard. No doubt there is others. Taiwan probably also good. Maybe even Manila.

I'd being doing some prolonged ping plotting, bandwidth and traceroute analysis before I committed to hosting anywhere - at least over a few days (around the clock), ideally over a month or so. International bandwidth notoriously unreliable in Thailand.

You should be able to get the IP address of a least one server hosted by the hosting co you choose.

Thaivisa also has beast servers and big fat expensive pipes to make it run smoothly :o

Same thought over here, Guava.

As I didn't wanted to think of all the illegal possibilities I choose porn ..... Anyway, dodgy content ....
