Query About A 30 Day Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hello.

We are entering Chiang Mai on the 9th May and are staying in Thailand until the 28th May. Because we are staying 19 days it means we will not be able to make use of the 15 day on arrival Visa meaning we'll have to get a 30 day tourist visa. We were told at the Thai embassy, any Tourist Visa must be used within 3 months of Issue. If this is right, the earliest we can get the visa will be 10th February. However, we start our Travels in India on the 29th January so will not be able to get it at the Thai embassy in London. Is there anywhere on our way where we will be able to get it? We do actually enter Bangkok on the 28th March but are only there for 1-2 days before we depart for a tour around Cambodia, vietnam & Laos. Other major cities we are in after 10th feb are Delhi/Calcutta & Katmandu

Thanks for your time! :o

What is your nationality? Many nationalities don't need any visa and get 30 days automatically.

Yes there is a Thai embassy in Delhi:

Royal Thai Embassy.

56-N Nyaya Marg Chanakyapuri New Delhi, India.

Telephone : (91-11) 26118103, 26118104 Fax : (91-11) 26872029

Visa services there:

BTW, you are correct, you must begin to USE the visa within 90 days of issue. If you are British, you do NOT need any visa at all for any stay under 30 days.

If you qualify for visa-exempt entry and arrive in Thailand by air you will receive permission to stay for 30 days, if you arrive by land or sea it will be for 15 days.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Thanks, M, I didn't pick up the possibility of a land border entry from the OP.
