Post Deletions - Without ""posts Have Been Deleted"

Featured Replies

A large number of posts in a News Clippings thread have just been deleted - about four daysworth. Shortly afterwards, a further large number of posts were deleted from the same thread. I am not querying the decision to delete them, but I do want to ask if it's not possible (and IMO desirable) for it to become standard that a simple "Posts have been deleted" message be posted by the Mod/Admin taking that action - i.e. not getting into the (usually obvious) reasons for the deletion but simply making it clear what has been done. This happens sometimes, but apparently depends just on whether the Mod/Admin decides to say it or not.

This seems to be a practicable policy for Mods/Admin editing within a post (and actually, AFAIK, always giving the reason). Is it not also practicable to make a standard rule for deletions of entire posts - at least when so many are deleted in one go?
