Usb Ports Shown In Device Manager

Featured Replies

In my Device Manager there are 16 USB options shown.

post-35075-1232936843_thumb.jpg

I have 6 ports that came with the motherboard and an additional USB card that has 5 ports.

Connected to these I have 2 printers – 1 Scanner – and 2 external HDD that are not connected all the time. I also occasionally connect a memory stick a web cam and digital camera.

How do I know what hardware is connected to which port? All the others clearly show what is connected to them so any update say of drivers is easy to do, is there a way to know what is connected to which USB port?

Cheers

try this: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

forget to mention it is free and does the job. I use it on my own computers.

Thanks "Webfact" thats a useful little program that I'm going to be using but there is still no indication which port is being used by what.

I ran the program and then plugged my memory stick into various ports and the program showed the memory stick in the same port all the time, so yes I know the memory stick is connected but still don't know to which port in Device Manager.

Cheers
