can anyone suggest a decent place to get a new watch battery please? it's for a mondaine swiss railway watch.

The big watch/clock shop on Thanon Tha Phae will take good care of you. They are near the Bangkok Bank. I think its near Soi 1. They have completely rebuilt, repaired and refurbished Swiss watches for me. They are very good.

I'll second that recommendation. Have had several batteries replaced there and the odd repairs as well.

Left side of Thapae Road (as the traffic flows) between the Bangkok Bank and Kamphaengdin Road.

Just add another place for references.  There are an array of watch shops that will service you.

There may be an "array" (of watch shops) but none coming with the recommendations (many on TV) as for the one suggested by 'electrified'
