Hi,

I am working in thailand past 1 year. I have work permit and valid work visa upto April 2009. Recently myself and my wife have been travelled to India and come back last week. That time only I knew that I have multiple entry visa and my wife has single entry visa.

Actually, My wife already has used that single entry visa 6 months back itself. I have get immigration clearance. but my wife dont have visa that time. then I have taken on-arrival visa for her and entered into thailand.

Can you please tell me that on-arrival visa can converted to non-immigrant visa for my wife? or is she has to go back India and take non-immigrant visa over ther and come back?

Regards,

No, she can't get her visa on arrival converted as she needs to have at least 21 days remaining on her permission to stay. But she doesn't have to go back to India, she can get a non-immigrant visa from the consulate at Viantianne, Laos if you have a non-immigrant yourself with an extension of stay.

Thanks Mario for your reply.

My wife have get only 15 days on-arrival visa. How long will take to get non-immigrant visa at the consulate at Viantianne or Laos? What are the documents she need to submit over there?

They might need to check with the consulate about that.

They don't give Indian citizens tourist visas so I am not sure she can a non-o there.

Edit: Contact info for Vientiane: http://www.thaiembassy.org/vientiane/consu...ervices_en.html

If they say no then contact KL because they list Indian citizens as needing 5 copies of application to get a visa.
