zachary
Do you mean from the Royal Asia Hotel at the very end of Soi 8? If yes, then you should cross over to opposite side of Sukhumvit (via the Nana BTS station) and you'll end up near Soi 11, then take a taxi from there, will take like 10min depending on traffic of course

Will probably be quicker than a taxi. You can walk right into the sky train station (Ratchathewi)from Asia Hotel. Get off at Asoke and cross the street (Asoke) and Cowboy is on the other side. Cold and miserable in Teesside i dont believe you. Most bars will be showing this game because it's a 7.45pm kick off Thai time bit early for Cowboy unless you want to catch happy hour and watch football with semi clad ladies sitting on your knee competing for your lazy Baht. Sounds good might go myself but no volume so thats out. You could get off at Nana or Asoke have a walk around whilst having a few refreshing ales and find a bar you like. Ok a few suggestions. Gullivers soi 5 not bad to watch games find the service very slow though but there is the advantage of going to the Beer Garden on Soi 7 afterwards and you might forget about Cowboy later. Tread carefully choose wisely if you do. The Pickled Liver soi 11 behind the 7/11 is ok. The Crossbar off soi 23 not bad this place good food as well. A fairly new bar called The Penalty Spot i think its between 27&29 never been but heard both good and bad reports might give it a bash myself to find out. To many bars to mention really sure some other posters will have their own ideas all about personal choice really. Have a good flight bring plenty of money BKK not as cheap as it was. Good luck. Up the Boro.
johnsurin
Take the sky train get off at Asoke, go downstairs to the MRT station, walk straight through to the other side of Asoke Road, come up out of the MRT station turn right and hey presto your in Cowboy. This saves you having a long wait at the traffic lights trying to cross Asoke road, or risk your life running across it on a red light. Going down the Boro...... John..... samgrowth
You may also want to consider a stop of in Soi Nana which is just a stop before Soi Cowboy. If you do so, I don't see how you can make it to Soi Cowboy in the same night. Sometime I don't even make it pass Siam (one stop from Hotel Asia); too many female uni students distraction. No wonder Mark wants to control the female uni student population (especially over the web). Edited February 3, 2009 by samgrowth
