menager1 Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Hello My husband and I are moving to Bangkok in March and we have two cats that we want to take with us. We are flying Korean air so our flight will be from NY to Seoul and Seoul to Bangkok. There will be an layover in Seoul for two hours and we will be arriving in Bangkok at midnight. Does anyone know if there will be any problems.
mdechgan Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Did you get your USDA approved health certificate from the vet yet? After you get it from the vet you have to send in 4 copies to the local USDA office to get it stamped and certified. After that when you get to BKK just take your cat and certificates to the animal quarantine section. Someone is always on duty. Its in the baggage area. Just fill out the forms and pay I think 100 or 200 baht for formalities. However the customs people when you exit might charge you an import tax if they will stay in Thailand permanently.
sbk Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 The pinned topic Importing a pet into Thailand is regularly updated with people's experiences. Also, once you get your cats in, please feel free to post your experiences there too, the more information out there, the easier it is for people. (hopefully!)
