Auto Parts/supplies In Isaan: Where To Buy?

Featured Replies

I have an immediate and ongoing need for an auto parts store here in Khon Kaen.

For the immediate, I have a larger motorbike that I need some oil-change supplies such as a long-neck funnel, some absorbant for spilled oil, an oil drain tray, some disposable shop rags or wipes, etc.

(Before anybody suggests I just take the bike and have somebody do it for me, that is not the point. I have some leakage and need to inspect an O-Ring on the drain bolt, clean up the underside, etc. Changing oil is not a passion for me, actually quite the contrary. But since I will ultimately be ordering any parts necessary for the bike, I want to get a handle on what's going on down there and do this oil change myself.)

Amazingly, I go to Tesco and they have some limited selection of oil, but no related supplies (as mentioned above.) As for Big C, they don't even have oil. On the contrary though, they both have more supplies for interior and exterior care than anyone could ever want!

So what I'm saying is that I'm looking for a NAPA, Big A, or Pep Boys kind of place. Where is Manny, Moe, and Jack when you need them??

I realize I'm probably not going to find a store in Thailand like the ones I mentioned above, but you get the point of the kind of things I'm looking for. So far I've only found Shophouse-type places that don't seem to have much selection, and they are certainly not equipped for the do-it-yourselfer.

Any suggestions?
