Hawaii National Guard Soldiers and Royal Thai Marines Complete Mission

CHANTHABURI, THAILAND - The 230th Engineer Company, Vertical, Hawaii Army National Guard and the Royal Thai Marines will complete a joint humanitarian mission.

The primary mission is a five-week long construction project to build a multipurpose classroom facility for a rural school here. Soldiers and Royal Thai Marines are working together on the project to provide humanitarian aid to the local community, and to strengthen ties between the two military organizations. Also, Soldiers and Thai Marines will be distributing approximately 37,000 cartons of milk to the local community.

Soldiers also presented the school children of the austere rural community with gifts of school supplies.

Soldiers from Hawaii represent the local communities of Oahu and Maui.
