Longest Visa

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I am planning (finally) on coming over to Thailand this year, but, due to the current situation with the world economy I think it will be better (financially) to somehow stay in Thailand as long as I can before applying for a retirement visa (800,000 baht was about £12,000 is now about £17,000 also to build my house will also be more expensive )

With that in mind I think I need the longest visa I can get, without having to go back to the UK to renew it.

I know the multi entry O visa can give me (about) 15 months, but because the experts say the present financial climate will last two years or more I need to have a visa to last as long as that

Is there a visa I can obtain that lasts two years or more (I am probably mistaken but I thought I heard mention of a two year visa) ???

or

Is there another way around this problem

Thanks for any suggestions guys

Steve

You sre lucky being in the UK where you can get the Non Imm O Multi Entry non o Visa from Hull. That is the longest you can get.

When that expires you can go to a neighbouring country and get tourist visas.

You can apply for a multiple non-O-A long stay visa, specialy for retirerees. A multiple O-A will give you permission to come to Thialand an unlimited number of times during one year. Each time you enter Thailand you will get permission to stay for 1 year. So be leaving and re-entering just before the your visa expires you would get almost 2 years out of it.

Appliction has to be made at the London embassy. See their website for more info.

Forgot that. It's getting late. You will need the 800,000 Baht in a UK bank plus police report and medical certificate.

Get an Non O multi from Hull. Come out here and hope that in a year, KL are still issuing non O multis or Vientiane are still issuing double Tourist visas. Hull & KL'll give you 15 + 15 = 30 months (2.5 years)

Why is it that most people when they ask about retirement extesnsions only mention the 800K option.

What about 65K per month income or a combination of money in the bank and income options.

Even the O-A visa has the 65K or combined option,

I don't have 65k a month income so no need to mention it thanks :o

I wasn't writing about you in particular. Sorry if it seemed that way.

I just like to mention all the options.

One being the combined income and money in the bank. It has it's advantages in that you don't need the money in the bank for 2 or 3 months and don't have to tie up so much money.

Hi, on reading my post it does seem as though I am having a go at you so if I write it this way it may read as I intended it too, I don't have 65k a month income so I didn't mention it. (I wasn't saying no need for you to mention it but I can see it can be read that way)

Sorry it read as though I was annoyed and thanks for your help.

Steve :o
