What kind of impact do you think the tsunami will have on air fares going into thailand?

Probably very little. If traffic drops for a while the airlines will just cut back on capacity and shift aircraft to more profitable routes unti demand returns. It won't be like Bali where people were worried about the attacks happening again. Most sensible people know this is a 2-500yr wave that could happen on just about any shore.

It will probably be much easier to get a last minute direct flight for a sensible price though
